When we bought the house it came with a Kayak® 16 by 32 foot above-ground pool. We enjoyed it a lot, and while we were in Germany for four years the tenants enjoyed it too. We had to do some maintenance on it while we were away (new liner and sand bed, and new pump and filter, etc.), but the summer we got home one of the 32-foot side braces broke.
It cost a lot more than we were comfortable with to replace the brace-bar, mostly because the pool had to be disassembled to replace the main brace-bar, but we bit the bullet and had it fixed.
Three years later the other side brace-bar let go, on Father's Day, in a torrential rainstorm. By this time we were not using the pool much, so we decided to take it down. Over the course of the summer we disassembled it and sliced it up into manageable pieces. Click here for a view of how we are transforming the area...
